A Mini Inquiry

In 4th grade library today we started with a mini inquiry before delving into our read aloud, Sit In: How Four Friends Stood Up By Sitting Down by Andrea Davis Pinkney. Each student had a copy of a photo of the 1960 lunch counter sit in in Greensboro, NC. Students were given time to record their "wonders." This was a great way to get them thinking about, accessing prior knowledge and questioning, all very important skills as a critical thinker.
