Chris Van Dusen!

We had an AWESOME author visit today!  Author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen came to Georgetown Central school! It was a blast to hear all about his writing and art work.  And of course hear some of his great books!

World Read Aloud Day 2014

On Wednesday, March 5 many classes celebrated World Read Day! Our students in grades Pre K through had the opportunity to skype with authors/illustrators.  We had a blast!  Pre K, kindergarten, and first graders skyped with Liz Garton Scanlon. She read two of her books to us, A Sock is a Pocket for your Toes and Happy Birthday, Bunny! Second graders enjoyed skyping with Melissa Guion while she read Baby Penguins Everywhere! and Baby Penguins love their Mama! Second graders also skyped with Bob Shea and loved hearing Don't Play with your Food.  The students in third grade heard Little Dog Lost: The True Story of a Brave Dog Named Baltic read by it's author and illustrator, Monica Carnesi.  It was a fabulous day all around!
