Battle of the Books!

It's never too early to start practicing, right? At the request of many Georgetown students we have begun our Battle of the Books practices. We had a great first meeting where we talked about the Battle, what they should be doing to prepare (hint, hint...read), and answered some student generated questions.
So what is the Battle of the Books? The Battle of the Books is a game show like competition where teams from RSU1 and Georgetown compete against one another to answer questions about Maine Student Book Award titles.
Here is what students to need to do:
-Read as many MSBA titles as you can and complete a question form for each book
-Come to lunch meetings once a week
-Work with your teammates to make sure every book on the list is read
-Go to the Battle in April to compete

There are 30 books on this year's Battle list. Here is the annotated list.  We meet every Wednesday during our lunch period. The Battle of the Books will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, so mark your calendar!

Fiction or Non?

First graders practiced telling the difference between fiction and nonfiction books by just using the call number! Amazing! Do you know which ones are fiction and which ones are nonfiction?
